Heat Strengthened Glass undergoes a thermal treatment similar to but less intense than full tempering.
It results in surface compression approximately half that of tempered glass, doubling its strength compared to annealed glass.

When broken, it forms larger, more interlocking fragments that tend to remain in the frame, making it a preferred choice for high-rise curtain walls and laminated glass bases where greater residual strength after breakage is needed.
