Product Details

We manufacture high strength toughened (tempered) safety glass specifically for interior partition applications. Through a thermal tempering process heating glass to over 600 degrees Celsius followed by rapid cooling, our glass achieves 4 to 5 times greater strength than ordinary annealed glass. When broken, it shatters into small blunt pieces, eliminating the risk of sharp shards and meeting global safety glazing standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the strongest thickness for a frameless partition?

A: For frameless partitions, 10mm or 12mm toughened glass is most commonly used. 12mm is recommended for heights exceeding 3000mm or for glass panels that include integral door openings.

Q: Can you supply cut to size toughened glass with drilled holes?

A: Yes. We perform all cutting, drilling, notching, and edge finishing before the tempering process. Once tempered, the glass cannot be cut or drilled again.

Q: What is the difference between clear and low iron glass?

A: Standard clear glass has a natural green tint visible from the edge and in thicker panels. Low iron glass removes iron content, resulting in perfectly neutral clarity, ideal for large partitions where colour distortion is not acceptable.

Q: How do you achieve a frosted finish on toughened glass?

A: Frosted finishes are applied by sandblasting or acid etching the glass surface. This can be done before tempering or on pre tempered glass. Acid etched frosted glass offers a smoother, more consistent finish and is easier to keep clean.

Q: Is switchable privacy glass available for office partitions?

A: Yes. We supply laminated switchable glass with PDLC film. When powered off, the glass becomes opaque white. When powered on, it becomes fully transparent. This product is available in toughened safety glass construction.

Q: What is the maximum height of glass you can produce for partitions?

A: Our standard tempering furnace can process panels up to 3900mm in length. For taller partitions up to 4600mm, we can arrange subcontract processing or advise on double panel configurations.

Q: How should your toughened glass be cleaned after installation?

A: Use a soft microfiber cloth with warm water and a mild non abrasive detergent. Avoid acid based cleaners, abrasive powders, or metal scrapers, which can damage the glass surface or edge finish.
